Introducing MagWLED-2

Meet MagWLED-2: two independent LED outputs, a built-in digital microphone and continuous power monitoring, all on a board with a footprint slightly smaller than the original MagWLED-1.

It brings more of the hardware your WLED projects need onto the controller itself, from audio-reactive lighting to flexible power and connections for your next sensor or button.

Two outputs. More room for your lighting.

MagWLED-2 gives you two independent digital LED outputs, each with a power connection. Screw terminals make it straightforward to connect your strips, while the dual-core ESP32-S3 provides more headroom for WLED effects.

Sound reaction, built in

The onboard digital microphone lets your lighting respond to music without a separate microphone to wire in. Bring audio-reactive WLED effects to your desk, room or next installation.

Flexible power, with clear limits

  • External power: Up to 24V DC and 10A total maximum—240W at 24V. Each channel supports up to 5A, with both channels sharing the 10A total limit. External power is fused and switched.
  • USB-C Power Delivery: Up to 20V and 5A total maximum—100W at 20V. Either channel can use up to 5A, with combined current capped by the negotiated USB-C PD limit. The supply and cable determine what is available; 5A requires a 5A-capable USB-C cable.

Each channel is limited to 5A; combined current must stay within the available supply limit. Match the voltage to your LEDs and choose wire suitable for the current and cable length. The screw-terminal block accepts 28–16 AWG wire.

Current, voltage and power sensing are integrated into the WLED firmware. Track consumption continuously in the WLED UI, or bring those readings into Home Assistant and your automations.

Connect your next idea

Five GPIO breakout pins and a Stemma QT I²C connector make room for buttons, sensors and other add-ons. A six-layer, two-sided PCB fits everything into a smaller footprint.

The original MagWLED-1 remains available, too. Its lower price and lower idle power consumption make it a useful choice for single-output projects and longer battery runs.
